American Idol: Season 11

It happened; I got hooked on American Idol this season. And apparently I picked a great time to watch. All of the judges have touted this season as being the best ever. Since I’m not familiar with the other seasons that much, I just have to say that what I saw has been freakin’ amazing. The talent level and diversity of the final three has completely blown me away. I will definitely be buying Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillps and Jessica Sanchez product in the future.

Joshua, who has been absolutely on fire as of late, blazing the gospel tinged trail once travelled by Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding and James Brown, was eliminated from last night’s final three! I thought maybe Jessica might get the ax because Joshua had been so hot lately (I had picked Jessica to win months ago). Phillip seemed entrenched/safe, at least with the female audiences, if the in-studio swoons are an accurate gauge. So in next week’s finale it’s heartthrob Phillip Phillips from Leesburg, Georgia, who has a real original, soulful gravel in his voice, versus the unbelievably gifted, 16 year old powerhouse from Chula Vista, California, Jessica Sanchez. And they couldn’t be more different! Phillip is subtle, yet very charismatic – but Jessica, well, she may have the best voice I have ever heard – it moves me.
