Upon moving to Los Angeles, he had the opportunities to train in Shotokan under Shihan Takayuki Kubota, Wing Tsun with Sifu Konrad Waalkes and finally spent 5 years at the now defunct "Jet Center" under world super-lightweight champion Peter "Sugarfoot" Cunningham. Stephen currently teaches group kickboxing classes at Bodies In Motion in Pasadena as well as teaching and coaching privately. Mr. Quadros is also one of the world's leading martial arts and combat sports journalists. He currently writes mixed martial arts previews at BudoVideos.com. Stephen was a columnist and contributing editor for Black Belt Magazine for over 3 years, beginning in 1998, where his monthly column, which he named "Fightsport", garnered him international attention.
Stephen is co-author of "Bas Rutten's Big Books of Combat", which some observers speculate are the largest and most diverse martial arts instructional books ever! But he may be best known around the globe for his role as host and television commentator for some of the world's largest and most successful fight shows including "Pride Fighting Championships", "K-1", "World Extreme Cagefighting", "Cage Rage", "Rumble On The Rock", "King Of The Cage", "Too Hot To Handle, "Inoki Bom Ba Ye"" and "International Fight League". Stephen is currently the analyst and color commentator for the MMA programming at Showtime Networks, which includes "EliteXC"and "ShoXC"). And if that wasn't enough to occupy the time of 'the hardest working man in MMA', Mr. Quadros was the host of his own radio show, "The Stephen Quadros Show", which was broadcast at Sherdog.com from June 2007-January 2008. It was during his first trip to Japan, while commentating at ringside on a K-1 event, where Stephen was nicknamed "The Fight Professor". |
