Upon moving to Los Angeles, he had the opportunities to train in Shotokan under Shihan Takayuki Kubota, Wing Tsun with Sifu Konrad Waalkes and finally spent 5 years at the now defunct "Jet Center" in Van Nuys, CA under world super-lightweight champion Peter "Sugarfoot" Cunningham. Stephen currently teaches group kickboxing classes at Bodies In Motion in Pasadena as well as teaching and coaching privately. Mr. Quadros is also one of the world's leading martial arts and combat sports journalists. After being the editor-in-chief of the Kickboxing Ring Report magazine and website for 5 years+, Stephen was invited to be a columnist and contributing editor for Black Belt Magazine, beginning in 1998, where his monthly column, which he named "Fightsport", garnered international attention.
Stephen is co-author of "Bas Rutten's Big Books of Combat", which some observers speculate are the largest and most diverse martial arts instructional books ever! But he may be best known around the globe for his role as host and television commentator for some of the world's largest and most successful fight shows including "Pride Fighting Championships", "K-1", "World Extreme Cagefighting", "Cage Rage", "Rumble On The Rock", "King Of The Cage", "Too Hot To Handle, "Inoki Bom Ba Ye"" and "International Fight League". Stephen is currently the analyst and color commentator for the MMA programming at Showtime Networks, which includes "Strikeforce Challengers," "Strikeforce," and in the past "EliteXC" and "ShoXC". And if that wasn't enough to occupy the time of 'the hardest working man in MMA', Mr. Quadros is the host of Clinch Gear Radio (with Jeff Dotseth) on Sirius XM every Wednesday from 4-6pm EST (Sirius channel 94 and XM channel 208). Clinch Gear Radio (CGR) is also proud to be the voice of mixed martial arts on the American Forces Network, which means that every man and woman stationed on every military base, or on every naval ship, can listen to the show! Previously Stephen hosted "The Stephen Quadros Show" at Sherdog.com from June 2007-January 2008 with Aaron Crecy. It was during his first trip to Japan in April 1998, while commentating at ringside on a K-1 event, where Stephen was nicknamed "The Fight Professor". |
